Banished

I’m writing this post from the office which probably sounds like a perfectly legitimate thing to do. I am, however, usually plopped in the living room when spewing forth this drivel posting to my blog.

I’ve been banished to this room by my son. Because he needs a moment. You know…some private time. A bit of privacy. To, um, do his “business”.

And I don’t mind, really. Because it has been DAYS since he’s done his business. Seriously. Days.

Did you know that being severely constipated can cause a toddler to also not be able to urinate? No? Neither did I until yesterday when, after not peeing for hours, my toddler had to be catheterized.

Do you know what catheterizing a toddler can result in? Said toddler then REFUSING to pee for an even longer period of time. Like, until the point that it causes him so much pain that he can’t stand upright and his extremely concerned mommy has to dip his screaming arse in a warm bath to try to MAKE him pee lest he have to be catheterized YET AGAIN.

So, yes, I’ve been banished to the office. But if he’s really doing what he says he’s doing out there, that’s completely fine by me.

(UPDATE: Success! Yay! Further trauma avoided for now.)
